Quick steps: find any old Doodle game

  1. Search “Google Doodle archive”.
  2. Filter the archive to interactive Doodles.
  3. Type the game name into the search bar.
  4. Select the Doodle, then press the play button.

The archive also lets you browse by color (gray, black, brown, pink, purple, yellow, green), by month and by topic, such as sports, Halloween or World Cup Doodles. Interactive and static Doodles sit side by side, so check for the play icon before you click.

Pac-Man (2010)

This was the first playable game Doodle, and it is still the one most people search for. It plays like the 1980 arcade original. Press “Insert Coin” a second time to add Ms. Pac-Man for local two-player. You can also search “Google Pac-Man” and play it straight from the results page.

Doodle Champion Island Games (2021)

This is the biggest Doodle Google has made. You play Lucky, a calico ninja cat, across an anime-style island built by Studio 4°C. You beat seven sport bosses: table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, artistic swimming, climbing and marathon. On top of that come side quests, and a team leaderboard pits red, yellow, blue and green against each other.

Analyst note

Champion Island has an active speedrun scene. The time savers are routing: clear the bosses in an order that cuts down walking, and skip side quests unless you want the trophies.

Magic Cat Academy (2016)

You play Momo, a cat wizard. Ghosts float toward you with symbols over their heads, and you draw that symbol to pop them. It is fast and works better on touch than with a mouse. The Halloween 2020 sequel moves the fight underwater.

The Great Ghoul Duel (2018)

This was Google’s first real-time multiplayer Doodle. Two teams of four ghosts race to collect spirit flames and bank them at home base. You can join random players or send a private link to friends. It is a solid quick game for a Discord server movie night.

Coding for Carrots (2017)

A bunny needs carrots, and you snap together command blocks to steer it. It teaches loops and sequencing in about six levels. If you want more of that block-based logic afterward, our list of Scratch games is the natural next stop.

Garden Gnomes (2018)

You load a gnome into a catapult, hold to set power and release to fling it across the countryside. The goal is distance. Google brought it back in its 2020 Stay and Play at Home series, along with Coding for Carrots and Lotería.

Lotería (2019)

This is Mexico’s bingo-style card game, with art from Mexican illustrators. Play online against strangers or private-link a group of friends. When a card is called, click it on your board, and complete a line to win.

Fourth of July Baseball (2019)

You bat as a peanut against pitching snacks. Timing is everything. Swing late on the slow pitches and early on the fast ones.

Pizza (2021)

Customers order a pizza with specific toppings on a set number of slices. You drag cuts across it, and clean cuts that keep each slice’s toppings matched score highest.

Bach (2019)

This was Google’s first AI-powered Doodle. You write a two-measure melody, and a machine learning model harmonizes it in Bach’s style. It is short, but it is a genuine surprise the first time you hear the result.

Rubik’s Cube (2014)

This is a fully working 3D cube in the Google logo. Drag to rotate faces. It is fine for practice algorithms, though a physical cube is faster.

Snake

Strictly speaking, Snake is a Search game rather than a dated Doodle. Search “snake game” and you can change the apple count, speed and board size. Searching “solitaire”, “minesweeper” or “tic tac toe” works the same way, which makes gaming on Google a decent option for a slow afternoon.

Stay safe

Skip “unblocked Doodle games” mirror sites. Many load heavy ads or push fake downloads, and the real games run free on Google’s own pages.

Laggy on old hardware Close other tabs; you don’t need a gaming PC, but Champion Island likes free memory
